Position Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and organized Front Desk Representative to join our medical office team. As the first point of contact for patients, this role plays a vital part in creating a positive patient experience while ensuring efficient office operations. The Front Desk Representative is responsible for greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out processes, handling scheduling and phone calls, and supporting the clinical and administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Register patients, verify insurance information, and update demographic details in the practice management system.
- Collect co-pays, balances, and provide receipts in accordance with office policies.
- Answer multi-line phone system, route calls, and respond to patient inquiries.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with patient check-out, including scheduling follow-up visits and providing necessary paperwork.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the office.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
- Support office operations by adhering to established policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or medical office coursework preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a medical office, healthcare, or customer service environment preferred. Familiarity with insurance verification, medical terminology, or EMR/EHR systems is a plus.
